I would just like to wish Jack all the best for the future as he takes his first strides with a pro club, Jack as been with me since he was an u7 and as always threatened to go to the next level. He definitely deserves his chance and all at Rothwell hope he grasps it with both hands. GOOD LUCK!
Sunday 26th Feb Colton v Rothwell
Sunday 19th Feb Rothwell 4 v Farsley Celtic 0
With a couple of injuries and illness you would have thought that we may struggle ,but within 15 minutes the game was over as Rothwell blitzed Farsley with 4 goals. The boys really did overwhelm the visitors and never really looked threatened. Farsley played a lot better after the early onslaught but the Rothwell boys relaxed and didn't put our visitors to the sword. Goals. Ryan 2 , Herve 1, Brad 1
Sunday 12th home Farsley Celtic Postponed
Saturday the 4th feb 2012 Sheffield Utd Academy 1 Rothwell 0
A very competitive game and Sheffield were very quick on and off the ball,we did really well in the first half and kept our shape and may be had the best chance when denham had an open goal. With only 1 outfield sub and playing 40 minutes each way we knew the second half would be dificult especially when they had 5 subs to change there team . We conceded on 65 minutes and to be fair for the last 10 minutes we could have conceded more but we also had a couple of chances . All in all we did really well and i think with a full squad we may have done even better ,but they deserved there victory and some of there play was really good , a great experience and thats the the level of fitness and quickness of thought we are aiming for. Welldone all boys
29th January GJFL quarter final Rothwell 6 Collingham 1
The boys look very strong at the moment and after about 5 minutes when the game sort of settled we dominated, we knocked the ball about very well and looked strong allover the pitch . Its good to see boys coming back to form and all our lads look comfortable Half Time was 2 nil with Ryan and Olly scoring 2nd half and we scored another 4 before Collingham scored in the last couple of minutes..Goals. Ryan, Olly 2, Herve, Jamie, Lewis
22nd January LD cup semi final 2pm kick off Rothwell 5 v Gipton 2
A very good performance by the boys, we looked very composed throughout and really if it wasn't for the gipton goalkeeper it could have been a lot more. We played some lovely through balls and our 2 wide men Jack and Ryan were a constant threat. Olly decided to show us what he is all about and was his best game for a long time, also Jordan was very good too infact we were very professional allover the field. Billy was strong and his usual composed self and Tom was back to his best. Oscar at centre half looked very good he met every ball and his combative nature showed very well. Mark James showed also that he may be starting to settle,he was really good .Rothwell went 3 up within 20 minutes and it looked really hard for Gipton but a mix up let there striker run through and slip the ball under the advancing James.Rothwell went straight up the othe end and got the 3 goal advantage back. But one thing about Gipton is that they don't give up and from a free kick one of there boys got up well and headed into the roof of the net. Half Time 4-2 . The second half started with Rothwell passing the ball about and it wasn't long before we started creating chances, we did miss a few chances but we eventually got the 5th to put the game beyond Gipton. Gipton worked hard throughout the game and were a credit to there coach they will be a force in the coming years i'm sure. GOALS. Jack, Ryan 2, Jamie , Billy. Well done to all boys, lets remember its a team game and every boy will make mistakes throughout games i know its frustrating but lets give the boys confidence . I know some boys want to play in different positions in games and that isn't a problem because for there development they have to play allover the pitch, but can you speak to me first as i don't want any unhappy boys. Please speak with me
I believe we all had a good break over christmas. We did play 2 friendly games the first was on the wednesday night when the wind was unreal away against sheffield league contenders Handley Wood/ Stavely miners, we came away from the game 3 nil victors on a quite horrendous evening due to the wether . The second game we played at home against yorkshire amateurs and after going 2 nil down after 20 minutes the boys kept playing and eventually we came through with a 6-2 win
A quick note thanks to Paddy Kisnorbo from Leeds Utd for coming and giving out our christmas presents to the boys, We will be training friday 23rd at 6pm, and i will be arranging 2 games in the holidays . Pannal Sports from Harrogate will be 1 of the teams and hopefully we will arrange a game with a Sheffield league team. Jake Mitchell is coming back to the fold as he as tried to settle with another team but as been unable to. Just to wish all in our fantastic group a merry christmas as always i will be in touch. Before i go a quick mention to Big Marc who as broke 2 bones in his ankle we will be doing something for the big fella , he will be sadly missed
Sunday 18th December League : Colton v Rothwell game postponed due to a frozen pitch
Sunday 11th December League : Yorks Amas 1 v Rothwell 4
On a sticky pitch we played some fantastic football for the first 25 minutes. The first goal was a incisive pass and move goal started and finished by Billy. We could have been further in front before Olly expertly slotted the 2nd with a piece of individual skill. We then let the Amas get back into the game with a great pass and the striker slotted the pass past the oncoming keeper. The 2nd half started and Rothwell dominated from the start and it was only a matter of time before Ryan scored. The 4rth was a good pass from Jack and Jamie ran from the half way line with defenders trying to tackle him but his strength and composure were fantastic and he finished expertly. A great performance Goals: Billy Sharp, Oliver Rimmington, Ryan Lill, Jamie Tonkinson
Sunday 4th December County Cup 1pm : Carlton 5 v Rothwell 3
Unbeleivable thats the word i will start with. On a pitch that was really unpalyable really wet and full of mud our pass and move football was never going to win the day . The first major decision was after around 60 seconds when Jack went for a fifty fifty with there keeper and with the ball looping in the air Jack tried to volley the ball across the box at the same time the keeper who was under the ball got his hands to it. The keeper went down clutching his face and with the carlton coaches racing on to see if the keeper was ok the referee gave Jack a red card to our amazement. We were now under the cosh and carlton scored after about 15 minutes and with the Rothwell boys struggling with the pitch and the physical approach by our opponents. There were at times very strong tackes and the pitch let players slide in. carlton got there 2nd on about 20 minutes when really we should have cleared. On about 25 minutes another crunching tackle left big Marc writhing on the floor . We carried him off and Marc went to hospital we later found out that Marc had broken his ankle in 2 places, he will be going to the fracture clinic tuesday for more info. It should not have got to that i am afraid. Half time and we went in for a chat and all the boys were quite down but we tried our best to lift them and sent them on there way . We pushed carlton back into the own half for long periods of the half and at one time looked that we could sneak a desrved eqauliser . Jamie with 3 minute left and at 4-3 down had a great chance from 12 yards he struck the ball really well but straight at there keeper if it had been at either side it would have been a goal. The boys battled great in the 2nd half and throughout were the only ones trying to play. We did however miss Jack and Marc and it ruined the game for me that both lads didnt play a full part. We have to play Carlton in the league twice so we just have to put it behind us and keep playing our way.GOALS. Jamie Tonkinson 1 Ryan Lill 1 Mark James 1
Sunday 27th November League 10.30 : St Josephs 1 v Rothwell 1
A very competitive game which was a little spoilt by the wind , once again we tried to play but St Joes do work hard and close down very quickly. we still dominated the possession but they were always dangerous on the break. St Joes took the lead which really could have been avoided. Half Time 1 nil down . The 2nd half started with Rothwell pushing St Joes back and it was only a matter of time before we equalised Jack broke through and there keeper took him down as he was the last man he was very lucky to stay on the pitch but he did receive a yellow card. Unfortunately we missed the spot kick which made it worse as the keeper saved it. We did now have the upper hand, and 5 minutes later Jack broke through again and again the keeper flew out of his goal and brought him down again. The keeper was sent off and Jack scored the penalty. for the next 10 minutes it looked like a matter of time before we scored again but St Joes held out and hit us on the break ,Mark brought down one of there players and he received a second yellow , now st Joes got the upper hand for the last 10 minutes or so we had one cleared from the line and the final seconds James pulled off a great save. A good game by 2 different types of football teams well done all boys great team commitment . I would like to know if any boy is ill before we play as they can not compete at the highest level when ill. We had 2 boys who started the game who were not well and may be we have to learn from that.

Half time we were level but it was not long before we took the lead , not the greatest performance but we got the job done.
FRIDAY 28th of October.Another week another new signing , with the demise of Horton Foxes which was really terrible for Nick there manager who as been in charge for a very long time, Nick's son Brad has decided to join our fantastic group.Brad is a very combative and composed central defender and i believe is the final piece of our jigsaw for the coming couple of season's. Nick did a fantastic job at the Foxes and i held them in the highest order and were always a tough nut to crack but Brad hopefully can learn our way which hopefully will progress the boy to great heights, Brad plays for Bradford schools which is a great honour for the boy. Lets make Brad and his family welcome
During the week we signed another quality player , Jamie Tonkinson as joined us from Colton Juniors, Jamie started his football at Gildersome before been signed by Huddersfield Town, He then went to Garforth before once again going to a pro club .Bradford city took Jamie for around 18 months before he went to Colton , i hope everyone makes Jamie and his family really welcome.
23rd october 2011 League : Rothwell 5 Yorkshire Amateurs 2
The boys started fantastic and within 5 minutes we were 2 up , but we didnt go on from the fine start and defensive laps let the Ama's pull 1 back with there 1st attack. We then scored and with a couple of minutes to half time we hesitated in the penalty box Half Time 3-2 . The 2nd half started with the Ama's attacking but we created all the best chances and eventually scored 2 goals to end the contest. GOALS. Oliver Rimmington, Denham Saxton, Ryan Lill , Ryan Bedford, Oscar Bailey
8th october 2011 Sheffield Utd development squad 2 Rothwell 4
A great achievement by the boys, we started very positively and probably could have scored a couple of early goals. Sheff Utd scored a great free kick and after the 1st period we were 1 down. 2nd period we started brightly again and we got 2 goals . 3rd period we scored again and went 3-1 up then sheff utd scored again. 4rth period we dominated again and scored the 4rth. A great performance by all 15 boys who ceme to the game. Goals. Billy Sharp 2, Ryan Lill 1, Mark James 1.
With big Marc injured for a few weeks and lew not available we have been missing 2 of our stronger taller lads, but the boys available have been great, Jack as been filling in at centre half and last week against Colton looked very accomplished, its been a little harder for a couple of the new boys with the pace of all our games been frantic and aggressive i think its only a matter of time though that the boys get up to speed but as i have always said i will look after them untill there time. Another newcomer Billy as settled in brilliantly and looks like he as played for us for years and now with Kaine deciding to show us his ability they can be the best centre midfield partnership in the league they defo have the ability. One last word about Denham infact 2 ,on fire. Keep up the good training and our ability will shine through.REMEMBER Good habits, keep the ball moving, scan for opponents, don't let opponents run off you, simple pass and move, open space drive in, one on one have a go, practice 1st touch, passes put your foot through don't leave your passes light or short

Friendly : Churwell 1 Rothwell 8
A great performance by the boys, for the first half it was difficult for Churwell to play as we kept the ball brilliantly we kept the ball moving and with our movement off the ball excellent it was only a matter of time before we opened the scoring . half time 3 nil. i was a lot happier first half with our performance as we won almost every second ball and second half we let that slip even though we scored more goals. lets all keep passing and moving and we will keep improving i can assure you
League : Rothwell 3 Colton 1
By 15 minutes we were 2 up but really should have been 4, our first 25 minutes was probably the best we have played for a long time . We were first to the ball chased everything thing down and all were fantastic. The only downside was the ref who gave a penalty to Colton when our defender actually got the ball. :goals Kaine Cohen, Scott Townend, Denham Saxton
League : Rothwell 2 Collingham 1
We should have been out of sight in this game but again we let our opponents stay in the game : goals Denham Saxton, Oliver Rimmington
Friendly : Gipton 0 Rothwell 10
A great pre season performance by the boys
Friendly : Scawthorpe 0 Rothwell 4
Our first pre season friendly saw us visit the Doncaster and district champions. The game started quite hectic and after only a few minutes Ryan Lill opened the scoring from a through ball from Mark James. We were trying to play most of the time but on a small very hard pitch it sometimes proved dificult. Kaine Cohen was back to his best in midfield And Jack Waters was a commanding figure at the back . To be fair the 14 boys we took all did well and everyone of them contributed to what was a commanding performance.Goals Ryan Lill 3 Scott Townend 1 . Welldone to all boys for there efforts. A quick mention to our new captain Scott Townend who was fantastic in all he did.
GOALS League and cup games only upto 29/1/12

When using the 3g at fleet lane can we make sure that no blades are used, pimple football boots like copa mondials, or astro trainers . BLADES are not to be worn
Can everyone take a look at the training times and places , these may change so please keep checking on the website , but i will also text out. If in doubt please call me
We thought our captain from last year Lewis would not be resigning due to his rugby commitments but i have had the green light that he is staying, fantastic news for us all.
A very important issue , when we start using the changing rooms and players area at Fleet Lane . Please remember NO BOOTS in the changing areas its important we keep the facility looking as good as we can , please treat with respect. Also unless authorized by myself or Simon parents will not be allowed in the changing room that is our area as a team.
Pre season Games and training : please note i may have to change some of these but please keep checking. I will check on all boys fitness and i will always ensure there well being and if i decide to rest a player in this busy 4 week period then it will be for the good of the boy. I know quite a few will be away when we start but that can not be helped, i do want the boys to rest in there beak cheers j

Tonight i can confirm that we are about to sign another goalkeeper , James Fox is joining the squad ,he as played in division 1 in the Harrogate league and as decided to try his hand in the Garforth once again lets make James and his parents welcome
Another new player signed last friday evening his name is Mark James, Mark as been playing a year above his age group and is also in the Manchester City shadow squad . He as lots of qualities and once again lets make Mark is brothers and sister along with his parents welcome
I am pleased to announce the arrival of 2 new quality footballers. The first is Billy Sharp, Billy played for the Pollington side that got to the county cup final last year, he as a cultured left foot and what we have seen so far will be a tremendous addition to the squad. Billy over the last six months was on trial with Barnsley but was injured and could not fulfill his trial, and also Doncaster .Billy as been asked to go back to retrial but hopefully he will decide to concentrate with what we are trying to achieve hear at the club, The next player is Ryan Lill again Ryan as a fantastic left foot and will have a massive impact on our team. Some of you will remember Ryan for scoring the winner against us in the first game of the season . Ryan started is football at Lawnswood before being snapped up by Bradford City where he stayed for two years. He then signed for Farsley Celtic where he was a massive threat for them, Ryan as lots of qualities to his game and hopefully we can bring more of that quality out. I hope all players and parents make both Billy,Ryan and there parents welcome to our already fantastic group

PLAYERS LEAVING
Tonight 20/8/11 i have had confrimation that Sam Adley as joined another club, Sam as been a valued member of our squad since starting with the club at mini soccer and this summer he as had a reaaly hard decision. Sam as really close friends at his new club, and i think the draw of playing with his close mates as pulled him away from us .I wish Sam all the best for next season. He will always be welcomed back to the club if he can not settle.
In football there is a constant turn around of players, boys get new friends and want to play with there mates and some are also good at other sports. Another player leaving is one of our goalkeepers Chris Sawicki he as exceptional qualities as a keeper but he wants to play out next year and may find it hard to get to the pace , but i am sure he will get there. We can confirm today that Jack Waters will not be signing for Churwell as everyone as thought, he is staying in the fold
This is just a general comment 2 players have gone and with the 4 and may be 1 more {goalkeeper} we have added if everyone else stays we will have 19 players. As everyone knows we can take only 16 to games. Football is competitive and we as always try to be fair, but i believe we now have the best squad we have ever had so its going to be tough to play week in week out. I am letting people know now as i do know some of the boys have been playing with other teams and if they can offer football then people have to make a decision . All players are welcome and i will never turn anyone away until we get 20 that is the number we can sign on. I just think it is fair we all know the score
