Under 11

The season is upon us

A tough start to the season.

The girls started really well by winning 5 - 0, having a win awarded and drawing 0 - 0 where a win was the least they deserved, and the Wigton manager admitted to. Battyeford was a close fought match and we lost to a late first half goal and then despite best efforts just couldn't hit the back of the net.  

The toughest time then came against Farsley, and this was expected. The girls did give it their all, but were beaten by a very well organised side, and can now gladly say we hope the hardest test is behind us.

Keep up the hard work girls, it will pay off soon and we will start to climb back up the league to where we belong.

All home games are at Fleet Lane, kick off 2pm on Sundays.

Plays in defence and has shown improvement match on match with positioning and tackling. Not afraid to get in and win the ball.} 

^{Ellie
Showing her strength on the right of defence this season, likes a run with the ball and always chases back.} 

^{Tori
Has developed into a confident player, not afraid of getting amongst the play, and likes to play it safe. Always gives her all and has a great attitude.} 

^{Lucy D
Can play in any position, has good fitness and a really good head for the game. Also likes to be heard on the pitch, picks out defence splitting passes, and has recently become a force to be reckoned with up front.}

^{Hannah
The most tenacious amongst the team. Always battling for the ball and superb at passing out of a dangerous situation, and has a great shot. Good at giving instruction to other players. Has recently been playing in goal and what a goal keeper she is.}

^{Emily
Runs at speed at the defence, and always looking to get a shot in. Just loves to score goals and run past players, and has now developed in to a more thoughtful team player, passing when a shot is not on.}
