A new season, a new challenge

This season there are three divisions and both teams are in a league where we feel they will compete well and have an enjoyable season. We are lucky enough again to have some new players join the club who have ability and enthusiasm.

If you wish to be part of the success, please contact Nick Townend on 0777 3055668.

New players

At Rothwell we welcome all girls of all ages and all abilities. If you would like to come along or know anybody who is looking for a club, please ask contact Nick.

Rothwell Blacks

Competing in the first division, one of the biggest challenges this year has been playing without a fixed goalkeeper, and has meant a lot of unsettling changes for the girls throughout the season, but even with that, a great mix of experience, spirit and enthusiasm amongst the squad means the girls really do try their best.

Each week the girls have the right attitude and are showing some great development in positional sense, and flowing attacks from the back so with all of this, they will be back and challenging for the league again soon.

The team is made up of Millie, Grace, Ellie, Tianna, Lucy, Emily, Megan, Afrika, Bethany, Lydia, Eleanor.

Rothwell Reds

Competing in the 3rd division, the girls are having a fantastic season, currently in third place and pushing hard for second. The girls have bonded really well and are performing as a team and not as individuals. A great transformation over the season.

The team is made up of Charlotte, Emily, Neve, Olivia, Jenna, Megan, Ellie, Sophie, Tori, Emma, Lucy.

Match report

Next week (26/2) sees the first competitive match between the A and B team in the quarter final of the shield. Please come along, kick off is 10.30am at Fleet Lane.

Making it happen

As well as the dedication and commitment shown by the players and their parents to make sure we have teams on match days, helping raise funds, cleaning girls kits, making sure the players hair is right, there is also a dedicated team that makes the football happen, and they are:-

Rothwell Blacks Managers: Nick Townend and Craig Spafford.

Rothwell Reds Manager: Craig Paul.

Head Coach: Steve Pallister runs coaching through the week.

Please contact Nick on 0777 3055668 or nick.townend@ntlworld.com regarding any aspect of the Under 12 girls football teams.

Training

Held on a Wednesday night at our million pound state of the art training complex on Fleet Lane in Woodlesford. Moulded trainers, shin pads, appropriate clothing, a drink and a smile are all the girls need. Times change due to pitch availability, please contact Nick to discuss the times if you are thinking of coming down.
