Rothwell Juniors Newsletter – May 2011

We’d like to keep everyone up to date with all the latest news and events at Rothwell Juniors via this newsletter and the Rothwell Juniors website, full details of which are below.

RESPECT

Respect is the collective responsibility of everyone involved in football to create a fair, safe and enjoyable environment in which the game can take place.  Rothwell Juniors is fully committed to supporting the FA's Respect campaign.  In relation to this, Rothwell Juniors have Codes of Conduct in place for everyone involved in the club.  To view details of the Respect campaign and the codes of conduct, please visit the ‘About us’ section of our website, and click on the codes of conduct link.

New Board for Rothwell FC

With effect from the start of this year, Rothwell FC now has a new Board structure.  Details of all Board Members can be found under the ‘About us’ section of the website, under the link for ‘Committee’.  Please feel free to contact any of the Board Members if you have any queries.

Dogs

Can we please ask that you don’t bring your dogs to training sessions and walk them in the grounds around Fleet Lane.  Apart from the obvious risks to our children of dogs fouling the pitches, the grass has recently been treated with fertiliser which we are informed can be dangerous to both children and pets until it has been fully absorbed into the ground.

Pitches

We are hopeful that the pitches at Fleet Lane will be ready to play on by the start of the 2011/12 season.

Parents leaving children at training sessions

Concerns have been raised that parents are leaving their children at training sessions unsupervised.  Although not ideal, it is at the team manager’s discretion if they are happy for parents to do this.  Please do however make sure that all coaches have up to date contact details if you plan to leave your child at training.

Supervision of children

Please ensure that children are supervised at all times while down at Fleet Lane.  There have been recent incidents of damage caused, i.e. kicking footballs against the gable end of the building adjacent to the STP, which caused damage to one light fitting, verge tiles becoming dislodged and cowl on boiler flue broken.

Footwear/shin pads

It is essential that all players wear appropriate footwear on the STP pitch.  There are plenty of notices around but players are still turning up to training or matches in boots with studs or blades.  The notices clearly state that NO BLADES OR STUDS are to be worn on the STP.  Astro turf boots or normal trainers are to be worn at all times.

Players will be asked to leave the training session/match if they are found to be wearing the wrong footwear.

Similarly, players will be asked to sit out training sessions or matches if they are not wearing shin pads.

Please also ensure that children do not leave large rubbish, including bottles, chewing gum, hats, gloves and tops on the STP.

Child Registration Forms

It is important that all parents/guardians complete a Child Registration Form on behalf of their child.  This is essential, not only for first aid and child protection requirements, but also to ensure we have the correct contact details for the children.

There will be a new form that each parent/guardian will be required to complete for the start of next season.  These will be given out by team managers with the payment details for next season’s subs.

Booking of club house

It is possible for our members to book our club house and STP for birthday parties etc.  The cost of this is as follows:

Club house - £20 per hour

STP – £40 per hour for half the pitch

If you would like to book this, please contact us at the e-mail address below or speak to your team manager.

Subs – 2011/2012 season

All details will be confirmed to you by your team managers in due course, but the process will be the same as last year, with 3 payment by direct debit options.

Training slots – 2011/2012 season

Training slots will be reviewed over the summer and communicated to you by your team manager in due course.

Rothwell Juniors summer gala

In line with previous years we are holding our annual Gala over the weekend of Saturday 16th July and Sunday 17th July.  There will be lots going on with entertainment, food and of course the football!

We are looking for donations: bottles, cuddly toys and the odd lean mean grilling machine for the tombola and raffles on gala weekend.  Please pass any donations to your team manager or leave in the office at Fleet Lane.

Further details of the gala will be posted on the website as the date draws nearer.

Rothwell Juniors 11 a-side gala

We will be holding our first ever 11 a-side gala at Fleet Lane.  This will take place over the weekend of 3/4 September 2011

Please put this date in your diary – further details will be posted on the website in due course.
