The Project will cost just short of 1.5Million Pounds and is due for completion by March of 2009. The project is running a little behind schedule due mostly to the terrible summer this year. In August the site was more of a swimming pool than a Football club..
Funding for the Project has come from the Football Foundation (around 80%) and Leeds City Council (around 10% of the capital). Thanks to both of those bodies for their support. The club is footing the rest of the bill and we are always looking for sponsorship and fund raising ideas.
We expect this to be a flagship club of the future and would urge anyone interested in local football at whatever level to get involved, Male and Female of all ages.
Projects like this are a massive undertaking and involve all kinds of skills. Our special thanks go to Chris Froggett of Steve Wells Associates for his assitance in guiding us through this process, and a special thanks to Brian Walker, former councillor and Leader of Leeds City Council who has managed to move mountains where others were either unable or unwilling to do so. Even out of office his willingness to help and his energy are impressive.
