Training has moved to Friday night, our next session is Friday 24th February 6pm at Rodillian Sports Hall.

Membership for this coming season will be £135 for the season. This can be made in one up front payment or by monthly standing order of 9 x £15 payments starting from September 2011. All payments for membership fees will be paid directly to the main club account and not into individual team accounts. As you can see from the numbers there is no discount for paying up front.

Training

We are now training at Rodillian School's Sports Hall, Longthorpe Lane, Lofthouse on Friday evenings between 6:00 and 7:00. Players should wear shin pads and bring a drink.

Match Reports

After three weeks of inactivity, apart from the odd snowball fight in Rothwell Park, it was back to business for the Under 7 teams. First up were the Reds, who welcomed Garforth Rangers to HQ. A delayed kick-off, due to the posts on pitch three having been vandalised, was not an ideal start to the season, but all those hours putting together flat-pack furniture for messrs Lewis and Courtney, have not been wasted, and the first game was soon underway. The Reds teams were mixed up today, but two fine performances saw the Juniors run out 6-0 and 11-0 victors.

Half an hour later at Pudsey Grangefield, the Whites were taking on Pudsey Juniors, the White A team suffered their only defeat of the season against Pudsey back in November, and revenge looked to be on the cards when Finley put Rothwell ahead, on a very heavy surface, midway through the second half. The hosts scored an equaliser minutes later, and despite Rothwell’s overall dominance, we were unable to get the winner. A fine game though, credit to the Pudsey keeper who performed wonders in the first half, but an otherwise good all round performance. Whites B dominated their game from start to finish, the 2-1 interval lead, courtesy of a William brace, didn’t tell the true story, but a rampant Rothwell in the second half pressed on the accelerator. Two goals from Oliver P and a deserved strike from Amelia, made it a final scoreline of 5-1. Player of the match plaudits for Justyn in game one, and Amelia in game two.

Due to the number of new players coming into the club since the turn of the years, a fifth game was arranged, against our regular visitors from Stanley. Ethan, Josh, Regan, and James all lined up in a team together with McKenzie, Jamie and Riley, who beat United 9-2, McKenzie registering five of the goals. With Stanley United requesting a second game, there was an additional game for members of White A and Reds A together with newcomer Charlie. A very one-sided contest saw Rothwell come out 15-0 winners, including five from Joseph and four from Cian.

So, another successful weekend, with six games, and no sign of any cobwebs, despite the two blank weekends. As February draws to a close, and with Spring little over a month away, hopefully the postponements should be a thing of the past so far as the current season is concerned, hope I haven’t spoken too soon.
