Rothwell Juniors 4   Normanton Athletic 1     ( 6.4.08)

The under 10's girls put on their worse display of the season against Normanton Athletic at home but still managed to win 4-1.
The juniors kicked off and were quick to put the Normanton defence under pressure but the Juniors lacked that killer touch and everything they did was at a race no thought was put into this performance, they were all rushing everything they did, when a little more composure on the ball would have paid off.
It took the juniors 15 minutes before they took the lead when in fact they should have been 4 or 5 in front, and it was Haley who shot at goal and the Normanton defender could only follow it into the net 1-0.
Maise was having another good game making some fine runs forward and put in Haley who in turn played a fine ball to Maddie on the right and who's first time cross was firmly struck home by Ellerby 2-0
Then almost on halftime a mistake by Maisie and slack marking let in Normanton and they took the opportunity to reduce the arrears this was the first goal the juniors had conceded at home this season.HT 2-1
After a little talking to at half time the juniors tried to play a bit more football thou it was hard as they were all still bunching and following the ball.
Maddie went into goals and Lauren had a run out in defence,Leah came on as sub and made some good runs as the juniors tried to get a grip of the game.
After good work by Rosie she put in Ellerby free and she went round 3 defenders before hammering the ball home to increase the lead to 3-1
Beth who had tried hard in defence was pushed forward and soon after Rosie fired another goal in for the Juniors from close range to make the score 4-1.
The Juniors will need to improve on this performance if they are to stay on top of the league lets hope it was just an off day.
Well done girls anyway
