Cup Final Result

The U12 Girls played out a nail biting Cup Final, losing by 3 - 2 to Idle. The standard of football, commitment and behaviour of Rothwell Juniors U12 Girls was a credit to the club. The girls should be proud of the way they played as they proved themselves to be excellent footballers. Thank you to the huge amount of parents and members of the club who came to cheer the girls on. A fantastic effort from all.

The under 12 girls team here started life as a merger between the two Rothwell clubs. Starting with only 10 players in total we now stand at 17 in the squad.  This season has been mixed for the girls. With new players making up this side we should really have been a division or so below, but our application was so late due to the late formation of the team, that we took Rothwell Towns place in Division 1. Even though we have had mixed result in the League, the girls have made it through to the Final of the Cup.

The girls and their parents have all put money to take the team to Butlins this year to play in the Foxes Cup and while winning the tournament is a tall order, the spirit and camaraderie amongst the whole squad will ensure we have a great time whatever the results.

We are already looking towards building for next season and have recently acquired another two players from Rodillian School . Hopefully we can get sorted ready for the start of the new season and win a good few games.

I have just discovered I will be starting a new job on August 4th. Following a very difficult decision  I have had to close my business. The resulting different hours and in various locations around the UK. I also have at times to provide 24 hour cover . All of this means I will at present no longer be able to coach next season.

I urgently need someone to step in and take over the coaching of the under 12 girls section. The club will provide level 1 training and I will assist as much as my time allows in the initial change over and associated paperwork.

The job is very rewarding and you would be taking the girls through the next season as Under 13s in the WRGFL.

If you  are looking for a team for your daughter, why not come to Rothwell Juniors and take an active part by also coaching. Perhaps your daughter already plays at Rothwell. Could you take over as coach?
